Hiiiiigh, it's nice to have you here - I'm Sam, creator of Frankie Smoke. Founder, Sam Gledhill

Oh hey there, I'm Sam - a 30-something Millennial, proud lover of weed, fashion enthusiast, undiagnosed ADHD-er, Libra, and accessories fanatic.

Frankie was created when I found myself longing for an alternate career path that was still in-line with my fashion industry roots but was something I could grow, be proud of, and call my own baby.

My love for Cannabis has always been a part of my soul since my late teens, but once I established my personal style and aesthetic in my mid 20's I couldn't find suitable smoking accessories that matched my vibe. The first product I designed was the 1-hitter pipe, a product that derived from my specific need to have a luxurious pipe that was fully cleanable, dripped with elegance, and a smoking tool I'd use for life.  Yes, I was one of those fake-ciggy pipe users in my early days - you know the ones that you scrape the resin out with a bobby pin, get from a headshop for 6 bucks, and throw out every month, yah those. Great for my earlier consumption years .. but I longed for something COOLER..PRETTIER..GIRLIE, and well made. So Frankie was born.

Prior to starting my own business I worked in Toronto for one of Canada's leading fashion jewelry designers. I was with their company for 5 years and established great connections in the jewelry industry with independent & major retailers, and ethical suppliers. I gained invaluable knowledge about the industry from suppliers to retailer relationships, tradeshows, warehousing, fulfillment, design, production, ecomm .. you name it. It truly was a job I'm forever grateful for. But every chapter comes to an end at some point, and after those 5 years it was time to leave my 9-to-5 for the man, and move forward on my own. 

As federal legalization came to fruition for Canada in Oct 2018, and me leaving my glamours city job at the same time (because I followed a toxic guy to my demise.. that's a different story for another time), I thought it was the perfect time to start my dream job - working for myself and building a brand I was responsible for and in control of creating.

Throughout the following 7 years (geeze it's been a long time), I've been developing Frankie products and creating the cannabis accessories that I was, personally, longing to have all those years ago. And I've discovered along the way that many of you had the desire for styled accessories too.

Something I've pleasantly discovered over these 7 years is that the cannabis industry is DOPE, from the community to overall culture. Yes, theres room for improvement (like any industry), but I have to say the presence of Women In Cannabis is inspiring. Coming from the fashion world (a heavy woman-lead industry) I've been so thrilled to see the ladies in Cannabis changing the male-dominated landscape of this industry, and I'm super proud to be a part of that shift.
